I can no longer open PDFs with "show cover page in two-page view" as default (following 2022 update)

Following the January 2022 update, I cannot find any combination of Preference settings that will automatically open every document as "show cover page in two-page view" so that spreads display correctly.

I found the new "Override Page Display" setting under Accessibility that lets me force everything to open in two-page view, but then I still have to drill into the menus for every document to align the page spreads. There doesn't even seem to be a menu button or keyboard shortcut available to speed this up.

Am I missing something? Or is this something Adobe is already getting complaints about? I tried complaining directly but was told I have to contact Adobe via an unidentified "team admin" for my corporation.

Check your preferences--it hasn't changed:

Keep in mind that this setting applies IF the PDF doesn't have different settings.

If you open a PDF and the settings are not what you want (and the file is not locked), do to File > Properties and change the Initial View settings. Be sure to save.

Thank you, David, for the prompt response.

I think the problem may have been that the wizard that ran after the update set the Accessibility to override everything to single page view (despite my Page Display setting), and I changed it to override everything with two-page view.

I have now turned off the Accessibility override completely instead, and Adobe seems to have gone back to remembering that I like "show cover page" as a default setting, even though it is not specified in the Page Display preference section.

Hi Richie
Turning of the Accessibility overide was also the only think that worked for me - so is also the correct answer!
