I have a Word document which uses Gilroy-light and Gilroy-bold OTF fonts

These fonts have been installed for all users by admin

When I save the docx file as PDF the text in these fonts appears correct but I can not select text in the PDF version

I've attached the DOCX and the PDF for comparison

When hovering over Gilroy text in the PDF the cursor turns into a cross hair and I can not select text - only images - the users want this so they can copy and paste

If I include text in 'standard' fonts then the text in that font IS selectable

If I go into the fonts tab in the PDF it does not show either Gilroy font

It looks like they are not embedded but if I start Acrobat Pro and follow the tips to fix the PDF up it finds nothing wrong to fix

Hi Colin

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that.

I have checked the PDF file that you have shared and found that it is created using the MS Word process (Save As PDF), please try to create the PDF from Word using the Acrobat ribbon present in the toolbar and see if that works.

For more information about creating the PDF from MS Office please check the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/how-to/create-pdf-files-word-excel-website.html

Let us know if you experience any trouble and need more help.

Regards

Amal

Yes that works fine !

However we create these documents in batch using C# / .net code:

document.ExportAsFixedFormat(pdfFileName, WdExportFormat.wdExportFormatPDF, false, 0, 0, 1, 1, 0, true);

What would the equivalent of Print to Adobe PDF / Create PDF be ?
