I seem to be missing the PDFMOfficeAddin.dll that is necessary for the PDFMaker ribbon in MS Word

I recently installed Acrobat, but no Adobe ribbon appeared in MS Word.  After searching around, it seems I do not have the PDFMOfficeAddin.dll that is necessary to make that ribbon appear.  I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, but it didn't help.  Word version is 365.  Acrobat version is 2023.001.20174.

Hi

Thank you for reaching out.

Try the troubleshooting steps suggested in the following help document: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/troubleshoot-acrobat-pdfmaker-problems-office.html.

If you still experience an issue, try reinstalling the application using the following steps: - Remove the application and run the cleaner tool (https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html).
- Reboot the machine
- Install Adobe Acrobat Pro from the following page: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Thank you!  I couldn't do much on the troubleshooting page since I didn't have that dll, so I followed your steps in uninstalling and using the cleaner tool.  When I reinstalled this time the Acrobat ribbon appeared in Word and all looks normal.  I guess it was some sort of installation error?  Thanks again.

Word 365 is really the web-based Word. Acrobat can't install anything to that. Check you have also installed the local Word app, and are using it.

Yes, you're right I was imprecise there.  I am using the local Word app, version 2304 (Build 16327.20248).
