Image Quality Loss When Exporting from InDesign to PDF

Hi all,

I'm struggling with placing a picture in an InDesign file. I've tried to place the file as a TIF or PSD file, and made sure the dpi was on 300. It looks good in InDesign, but when I export it as a PDF you can clearly see the quality loss. I can't seem to figure out what causes this, or find an answer that helps online. The upper one is a screenshot of the pdf, the 2nd one is a screenshot of the photoshop file.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Boris28545941hh9z,

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Would you mind checking the PDF compression setting of the image, as shown in the screenshot below, and testing the quality with the settings mentioned in the screenshot?

Note: This may increase the file size, but you shouldn't see any kind of quality loss.

Let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Harshika
