Importing data from excel to a dropdown

Does Adobe not have a script that can import data from an excel file into a dropdown field in Acrobat DC without having to pay for something extra?

No. You can write one yourself, though.

You'll find a sample file there that will fill a dropdown from a pasted list of items that can be copied from Excel.
