indexing pdf files

Hello
since today my windows 10 is not able to search pdfs correctly. given a folder containing >1000 pdf files, I want to list all the files containing a given keyword within the document. I was able to do that until yesterday using windows explorer and typing the keyword in the searchbar. Now I'm not able to do that anymore as the search only find words and excel files containing a given keyword but not pdf files. I re-installed ifiler from adobe, deleted and reloaded the folder for indexed search (control panel, indexing options, advances) I also went on the task manager and made sure that Wsearch is running, however I'm still unable to visualise all the pdf files that contain a given keyword.
Can someone please help
thanks
Sergio

Please refer to the help steps provided in the help article (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/using/searching-pdfs.html#advanced_search_options) and see if that helps.

I also have the issue where the windows search for pdf files in a folder returns nothing on my recently installed windows 10, 64-bit, desktop (see specs below). The pdf search was working before I installed the the latest free Adobe "Acrobat Reader DC", version 20.006.20042. After installing that, the windows pdf file filter was changed to "PDF Professional Filter", but no pdf files were found after rebuilding the index, and then searching for pdf's in a known folder. I did find references to an iFilter 11 intended for older 64-bit windows systems. It's title is "Adobe PDF iFilter 11 for 64-bit platforms". I downloaded that, installed it. It changed the windows pdf file filter to "PDF Filter". After rebuilding the index again, I can now search for pdf files in my folders. I still wonder if there is a newer iFilter, or other msi download that is made for the Acrobat Reader DC product.
my desktop: Microsoft Windows 10 Home, Version 10.0.18363 Build 18363
