Insufficient data for an image (Excel 2016 OLE)

I have Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, Continuous Release 2020.006.20042. It works just fine opening PDF files from a network location or on the PC. When I try to open a PDF embedded in an Excel file, I get an error: Insufficient data for an image. It only happens with OLE files in Excel. If Acrobat DC is not already open, the files open in Reader just fine. All of my file associations are Acrobat Pro DC. I am running 64 bit system with Windows 10 and Excel 2016.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Try updating Acrobat Pro, you are missing several bugfixes.

I tried that, but I'm up to date. Is there a way to load the bug fixes manually?

2020.013.20074 is now up to date. You said it was 2020.006.20042. Does the problem still happen?

It's a typo. I'm up to date and it's still happening. This all started when the company went to Windows 10 and Excel 2016
