Is 'DEFAULT' different from 'SINGLE PAGE CONTINUOUS' mode in Initial View Settings?

Hi,

I'm using Adobe Acrtobat 9 Standard to view pdf files.

I have seen the following options under 'Page Layout' in Initial View Tab for a PDF file.

  • Default
  • Single Page
  • Single Page Continuous
  • Two up
  • Two up continuous

I cannot see any differences between default and single page continuous. Can anyone please tell me the difference between Default and SinglePageContinous? If both are same why there are 2 options?

Thanks a lot in advance,

Manik Cheruku.

Default means “follow the user’s current preferred default”. For you, if that’s your preferred default, it may be single page continuous. The other settings ignore the user’s default. Use these settings with some thought, it does drive some users crazy when their preferences are ignored; be sure it’s really needed for the document, rather than assuming your favourite is the best.
