Our team has had past practice of converting batch of project-related emails to an indexed PDF portfolio knowing that it would be searchable if we ever had to reference past correspondence.
It appears the search functionality against a PDF portfolio of emails (in particular) is no longer available. Can someone please advise if this is a correct understanding, or if there is an available alternative?
Attempting to use standard search within Windows is not successfully mining the contents of the portfolio which makes the entire process somewhat useless.
Hi @Nancy36407612r3r8 ,
I believe that Adobe Acrobat users (in genera) are having diffculties finding menu items and tools with New Acrobat Interface.
Is this what you are experiencing?
If No, see this old discussion:

I am curious though, were you able to perform a Standard Search on any PDF portfolio in the past?
OR,
Are you referring to Acrobat not having the ability to index all the portfolio files anymore?
In which case, were you able to perform Catalog Index searches before and now is not working?

In the past I could use Ctrl-F to open a basic search window to search within portfolio, and that worked.
Now, even if I navigate to the full menu and select search functionality, where I am presented with 'Find' and 'Advanced Search', if I select the 'Find' option nothing happens. This is what threw me off. Yes, if I select 'Advanced Search' it proceeds to open window with available search options and all is well. However, having Ctrl-F seemingly disabled at portfolio level isn't an expected behavior.

I am starting to find out a lot of broken things that used to work well before with this new Acrobat.
I don't even need to think anymore, Micorosft's AI assistants everywhere, and you can't disable them either.
What a shame.
