Issue Emailing from Adobe

Hi Guys,

I'm having an issue where when I hit the email button in Acrobat reader, the Outlook window that opens is in 'plain text' rather that HTML, which is not ideal for Signatures etc. This can be changed manually, but is a bit annoying. Opening a normal Outlook window is in HTML.

This is the same issue others have had on the forum such as here -  https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/adobe-acrobat-send-file-by-email/m-p/14297233.

However this has not worked in our case.

We have tried using the Adobe cleaner tool and reinstalling but not luck.

Has anyonne got a solution to this?

Hi @Joseph35476240p5n6

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

It looks like an issue with MS outlook, please check the similar discussions that I have found on MS help page listed below and see if that works:

Hope this information will help

Hi Amal,

This is not an Outlook issue as this is only happening in Adobe. As mentions in the origional post. Opening a regular Outlook window opens fine in HTML. This only happens when clicking the 'email' icon in Acrobat. I have also tested this on multiple other Win10 instances

Hi there

Sorry to keep you waiting, we got this checked by our engineering team and found that it is not an Acrobat issue. MS Outlook behaved this way when draft email is not invoked from within Outlook. You may also contact MS for further investigation into it.

there isn't much that we can do.

Hi Amal,

Sorry for the the late response, but I have just had this happen on a new PC so though I would follow up. This is not standard behaviour when draft emails are not invoked from within Outlook as you have mentioned, as both PC's were creating the email as HTML until this randomly started defaulting to plain text, and I have tested this on a third PC and this is still creating the email as HTML.

Please let me know any possible next steps.
