Issues with edit tools after certification

New Here ,
Jul 16, 2024 Jul 16, 2024

I'm having an issue that only occurs for me (not my associates or their certifications) where once I have added my certification to a PDF, I no longer have access to my edit tools. The whole edit option is greyed out. I have already attempted an uninstall and reinstall of the newest version, along with resetting my certification identity. Nothing has worked so far. Is there any way to fix this?

A certification is a digital signature. Once you apply it you should not be able to edit the file any further.

I'm aware that its a digital signature, and that you cannot technically "edit"  the document afterwards. I should still have access to the edit tools after the certification though, and I have been able to use the freehand draw option after a certification has been added. We use this to mark certain items on certain documents. I just, for some unknown reason, cannot do it on my certified documents, but I can on others, and they can on their own. So this is why i'm confused and wondering if there is a way to fix this issue.

Hi @Amii386433650kj4,

You are right; you still should have access to Edit Tool even after applying for the digital signature.
Ensure you are using Acrobat Pro when viewing the file, not Reader. Is there any script running on the event when the signature is applied?
Try to create a sample PDF file and try signing it. Let us know if the issue is reproducible.
