Keep Tool Selected - Check Boxes

I found out how to keep tools such as the Stamp Tool selected but this does not work for Check Boxes. Has anyone found a way to keep the Check Box tool selected?

I don't have access to this version right now, but in Acrobat XI there's a box at the top of the window (in Form Edit mode) that allows me to do it. I'm assuming (hoping) there's something similar in your version as well. It looks like this in Acrobat XI:
