Keyboard Shortcut between Thumbnail pane and document pane

I want the keyboard shortcut to toggle between the thumbnail view aka pages panel and the main document.  I use my keyboard arrow keys to advance to next page within the Thumbnails, but then I want to back to the document panel to scroll or view it more closely without having to use my mouse. I thought Alt Tab would work but that doesn't.

I don't believe it's possible, unfortunately.

Tab and Shift+Tab can be used to switch between the panes, and the buttons in the current pane, but they don't see to take you back to the document pane itself.

Alt Tab switches the tasks on Windows, not different “states” in a program.
