lag while highlighting

whenever I use the adobe app on my ipad pro to highlight a certain text, the app gets super laggy after the first few highlights. I am using it to highlight a textbook PDF file. I never had that issue with my previous ipad air 2.

I also use it on ipad pro and I never got that problem.

Can you make sure you are using the latest version of the operating system and the app is up to date. Do you have enough free space left?

I updated both 3 days ago... so they are to date...
