There's a "Flatten Layers" command under the Content panel in the Action Wizard. Have you tried it? Make sure to have a backup copy of the files, just in case it's not what you had in mind, as this process is often not reversible.

Flatten layers and Merge layers option works similar condition.

Flatten:

Flatten means all the layers are merged as like normal text and the layers will removed in layer panel.

Merging example for my requirement:

My pdf contains 5 seperate layers for Questions, Answers, Guide and Grids, line numbers and Marks & Bleeds.

Now i want merge as in below:

Guide and Grids, line numbers and Marks & Bleeds layers need to merge and naming should be ‘Guides and Grids’

Answer layer should in stay separately

Question layer should in stay separately

Finally i need 3 Layers in pdf.

I am usually merge the above activity through Acrobat pro by manually. Now i have 200 more pdf files. Could you please advice is there any automation is available in Acrobat Pro for merging multiple pdf files with single run.

Please let me know if anything is unclear.

Thanks,

Santhosh

HI Santhoshr,

As try 67 mentioned above, you can try flatten layers option under Action wizard using following steps:

Launch Acrobat > click Tools > type action and click action wizard

New action > content > flatten layers > double-cllick to add it to the right-hand pane > save

Let us know if you have further questions.

You can use the Action to process all files at once.
