Hello @Ferdinand!
As you correctly highlighted, the support for Acrobat 2017 ended on June 06, 2022. See this article for more information: End of support for Adobe Acrobat 2017 Classic and Acrobat Reader 2017 Classic. So, the suggested steps may or may not work for you, as the activation servers may no longer be fully functional and available. Adobe strongly recommends that you update to the latest versions of Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader. By updating installations to the latest versions, you benefit from the latest functional enhancements and improved security measures.
I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Anand Sri.

Vielleicht ist dein Benutzerkonto defekt. Erstelle testweise ein neues Benutzerkonto und prüfe, ob Acrobat damit funktioniert.

Hello Ferdinand!
I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out.
++ To add to what our community product expert has already shared, Acrobat 2017 is a serial number-based product, so try signing out of it if you have used your Adobe ID(email) to log in, restart the machine, launch Acrobat, and sign in. If it prompts you to enter the serial number, please enter the serial number to complete the activation process.
Ensure you have Acrobat 2017 installed.
Deactivate and Reactivate the License
If possible:
Open Acrobat.
Go to Help > Sign Out (or Deactivate).
Close Acrobat, then restart and sign in again using your Adobe ID.
Enter the serial number again if prompted.
You can also try the suggestions from this article: https://adobe.ly/4kmScW7
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,

Hallo,
I tried it. Sign out and sign in seemed to run. I was asked for identification (e-Mail. Code, password) and the start of Acrobat showed somewhat changed surface. But the error message and the restrictions in use remained (even by restart PC). Serial number was not questioned.
Thanks for your help

Hello @Ferdinand!
Thank you for sharing the details. Please try performing a clean installation using the Acrobat Cleaner tool. After removing the app, restart your machine and download Acrobat 2017. Use the serial number for activation. Additionally, you can create a test user profile with full administrative rights, install Acrobat 2017, and check if it works.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Anand Sri.

Thank you for the hints.
I began remove by Cleaner Tool and began installation Acrobat Pro 2017. No Problems, except the information, that version 2017 is already unsupported since 2024. I started Acrobat and showed immediately the same conspicuous symbol for using an expired test version. Opening of an PDF file showed on right side below tools the hopeful possibility for activation. But the correct serial number gave no immediate reaction, only the hope for solution anytime ( ... try it later again). Later tries stay unsuccessful. With false serial numbers I got another, rejecting answer. It seems any person has to decide about activation 😉
Kind regards
Ferdinand
