My individual PDF files look perfect, but when I use Acrobat Pro DC to "Combine" my files, it changes letters and symbols to boxes suddenly.
Please advise. This has started in the last two weeks, I use this for producing financial reports.

Windows or Mac?
Which app did you use to create the original document?
Which fonts, and are the fonts embedded in the PDF?

Mac, Appfolio creates the original pdf file that looks perfect, then when I use Adobe DC to combine the files it seems to change all %, x, y, z, and a few other letters to squares.

Do all documents contain the same fonts?
Try using a different font. Corrupted or incompatible fonts could be the problem.

My original program does not allow me to change the fonts. It all worked fine two weeks ago, but since then I have had an Adobe Update, and also a MAC update.

Hi Vicki,
Did you try opening the files directly in Acrobat and see if it opens fine? If not, it is a font-related issue.
Check if the same issue occurs with files saved locally on the device.
If possible, share the sample PDF with us.
Let us know your findings.
Thanks,
Meenakshi

Oddly enough, it seems to work when I use the web-based Adobe, but not the updated program on my actual MacBook. The files individually appear fine, but when I combine them they change. Still troubleshooting on my MacBook.
