Is the other file on the same machine as the main PDF, attached to it, located on the web, somewhere else?

The other file it Is on the same pc as the main PDF it is not attached to it.
I am choosing the option LINK - open a file - and then when I press the link on my main pdf I just want it to open the other file on a specific page which I cannot seem to be able to do that for some reason.

Instead of "Open a file" use "Go to a page view", then open the other file and click the "Set Link" button in the floating window. You have to make sure the file remains in the same relative position to the main file for the link to work, though.

Is it any way that my main PDF not closing everytime it opens the link to the other file. It seems that with this option it works but the main PDF is closing so if ihave multiple links that means the read needs to open the main pdf again and again.

Yes. After creating the link select the Add or Edit Link tool and right-click it, then select Properties, Actions, select the action and click Edit. Then change the "Open in" setting to "New Window".

You're welcome! Unfortunately, the change I described above can only be done on one link at a time.

If you want to process multiple links in this way you would need to use an external tool, such as this (paid-for) one I've developed: https://www.try67.com/tool/convert-all-links-in-a-pdf-to-open-in-new-window

If you have a lot of links to edit it could save you a lot of time and labor.

Yeah i noticed, i have to go to each link one by one and add the path to open the external pdf and guide it to the specific page.

Thanks i will try the suggestion.

Thank you again for the help.
