Lost text after exporting

I was trying to export a filled-in PDF for an assignment, however, all text boxes that used any special symbols (i.e. pi, ∞, ∈) completely disappeared. What was even worse was that after exporting, the text disappeared from the Adobe Acrobat document itself. No option to revert it, undo it or to recover a previous version. Hours of work lost and a failed assignment.

Is there any way to remedy this?

Hi there

What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 24.01.20615 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://adobe.ly/3IT5N6l

Also try exporting the PDF online via https://adobe.ly/3vhaggc and see if that works.
