Why is that that when I print using Acrobat Pro xi the graphics print at very low resolution while the rest of the page, including text, is pin-sharp? I set Preferences to Press.

Sometimes we think we have more resolution than we have when viewing an image. Text is normally vector and scale independent Images have a resolution and will not add more information than you have (though some printers have options and algorithms to fake it quite well). Look carefully at your PDF and see what resolution you have in your PDF.

Did you create the PDF file? What were your creation parameters? I'm especially interested in the image creation and compression parameters.

If you cannot get to the point and the document is not confidential, you could share it with us.

If it is confidential and you created it, please create a dummy PDF file.
