thanks for the guidance. I restarted my laptop running latest version of 14.6.1 and Adobe started to work. I had of course quit adobe and restarted, logged out and back in with no help. But restarting my laptop seems to have fixed the problem.

 

and the comment about navigating adobe...this is kind of across the board...the IOS apps are just terrible for UI and simplicity/usability, the Mac adobe app interface is not easy either. Seems like Adobe has lower standards for UI but of course I'm not a graphics guy so only use Acrobat Pro, Adobe Sign, with my monthly subscription. So most of what Adobe does I don't use.
