March 2024 upgrade/update Adobe Pro

I am getting a popup to upgrade/update Adobe Pro, which I paid for originally. Adobe says it won't support older version. I'm fine with an update/upgrade but why am I beng asked to pay for it again. Long time Adobe Pro user, shouldn't it be complimentary?
