math symbol not showing up

For some reason a few math symbols are not showing. I'm guessing it's a font problem

Meanwhile they do appear in quickview:

My system is Big Sur 11.4 and acrobat release is 2021.001.20149

I have a similar problem in a pdf I'm working with and have no idea how to resolve this issue.

I am using a Windows 10 machine with Creative Cloud and the issue is in the Acrobat desktop app.
