Mobile-Friendly Interactive PDF

New Here ,
Jul 14, 2025 Jul 14, 2025

Hello. I am creating an interactive PDF by exporting it from InDesign. I can add interactive elements to the document and export it without a problem. However, when I try to open the PDF file on a mobile device, it shows all the information in the pop-up dialog boxes, and they cannot be closed while on a mobile device. How do I export an interactive PDF to be mobile-friendly?

The thing is, interactive fields like dropdown lists are widgets that behavior and look isn't controllable from within a PDF. It really depends on the environment those PDFs are being opened. To make forms mobile-friendly you better use HTML-based forms.

As Radzmar implies, It's not the PDF, it's the viewer.  Try opening it in the Mobile Adobe Reader.

Or use HTML forms. \
