When I plot my blueprints out of AutoCad using Adobe Acrobat they do not print to the scale requested in AutoCad. It is very close, but it is off fractionally. In other forums I have read that others have had similar problems with this. One individual said that Acrobat actually shrinks the drawing to 98% of the actual size during the plotting process, which obviously throws off the scale. If I print directly from Autocad to a printer the scale on the print is perfect. This is a problem because I need to be able to PDF my drawings and have a client or end user print them out the exact scale called out on the print. Any thoughts or suggestions?

What is out of scale? Autocad to PDF prints or printing PDF files of Autocad drawings?
In both cases there may be scaling factors that need to be switched of.
In the case of printing PDF, disable the fit option(s), as they will fit the print to size taking into account the printers margins. ung one of he 2 it options will result in the scale factor you indicated if the sheet is the same size than the design size.

Facing the same issue. I create working drawings in AutoDesk Inventor, choose the program's "Print" command (icon) select "Adobe PDF" as my printer. (My Working drawings are 11 x 17). Select sheets in range. number of copies 1, scale "Model 1:1." I make sure I have the proper paper size (ARCH B) in the Properties-->layout-->advanced options menu. and then I select preview, at wich point I can tell that the margins are larger than they are in my drawing workspace. I didnt realize this until my boss told me he took a acale to the PDF he printed out and noticed it was smaller, not correct.
attached are two snips, one showing the margins in Inventor, the other showing the margins in Adobe print preview. You can clearly see the margins in the Adobe Preview are Larger that the Inventor example.

Try exporting to PDF from AutoDesk Inventor:
Printing to PDF (AKA refrying) should only be used when there are no other options.

Exporting to PDF seems to solve the issue of the wrong size, but now, instead of printing all of the sheets at once, I will have to do each one individually. On the current section of the project, that means 12 sheets. That doesn't soud like much, but considering that I will have to type in the name or each sheet manually and then combine them all when that step has been completed, it is rather monotonous and time intensive, and there will be plenty of other sheets in the project as well, call it 40 sheets. The Lord help me if I have to make changes and reprint (which is likely). It seems rather short sighted that the feature to allow architects/engineers/draftpersons to print at scale is not a BASIC feature of Adobe Print to PDF, I mean, CAD has been around since 1957, its 2021, surely SOMEONE would have realized this in even the last 20 years? Anyway, thank you for the help Luke Jennings, I appreciate it.
