I have a form with several cloumns (3) containing 25 text boxes each. I would like to name them Text 1, Text 2, etc....but the only option I know of to generate sequential numbering for text box names is the "Place Multiple Fiels" but when using this I get a numbering result that alwasy has a format like this; Text 1.0, Text 1.1 etc...I cant seen to get rid of the ".1, .2" type format...Now I did name the text box "Text" with out a nujmber and got the results "Text 1, Text 2 etc." but the number format only woked for the 1st column to other twocolumns started with "Text 1.0 and Text 2.0"
I just want to number the text boxes in my 3 columns " 1-25. 26-50, 51-75" with out having to enter the 2nd and 3rd columen manually....suggestion welcome...

If you want to rename existing (recreate fields with diff name) fields with a script take a look at this:
https://answers.acrobatusers.com/How-bulk-rename-form-fields-unique-names-q284418.aspx
If you want to create fields from scratch when you select 'Add a Text Field' tool also click on a 'pin' that is to the far right on toolbar, now just keep adding fields and they should be named "Text1","Text2"...etc automaticaly, it's easy and fast.
