Hi there,
I'm needing some assistance. I am creating a suite of fillable PDFs, some of which require multiple signatures, dates and checkboxes to be completed as part of the approval process. As far as I can tell, the form is locked and flattened as soon as it is saved and when trying to open it to modify the fillable information I am unable to enter anything in fields such as the signature date, checkboxes etc. The majority of the users completing the forms have basic Adobe, not Pro, so saving the form via Save As Other > Acrobat Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools (includes Form Fill-in & Save) is not an option unfortunately. Is there any other workaround for this other than to split the form so the bits that need to be completed at different stages of the approval process are completed separately rather than in one form?
Appreciate your help!

You can control what fields are locked, if any, when the form is signed. Simply don't lock any fields, including signature fields and submit buttons, when signed. Additional signatures can be set to lock remaining fields if desired.

Thanks for your feedback. I should have added in my original post that I double-checked all the fields and none are locked. So I'm at a loss as to why the fields can't be edited after a signature is added. Is this just how forms are meant to work, for security reasons so the person signing can't change the information contained in the form?

Do you need e-signing options? That feature is limiting your options. (People can still email it and sign it; e-signing is referring to the online service.)
If you remove those options, you have more control over the fields.
