Perhaps the file is protected against editing by security, signature, or PDF/A mode.

Thanks for the reply. All files do have the same thing, I don't think that they all protected.

Just make a new one and see. If they are all from the same source, they could all be protected. Though on a protected file I see this:

It actually looks very much as if the app that is running in your screen shot is not Acrobat Pro, but Acrobat Reader. Check the menu bar or About box. It doesn't matter what you've paid for, it matters what you run.

Thanks a lot, I have attached an image of the menu bar, it shows that the PDF software is Pro version.

Thanks

What do you see under File - Properties - Security?

Strange... Can you share a sample file with us (via Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.)?

Works fine for me... What exact version of Acrobat are you using? Look under Help - About Adobe Acrobat.

Don't know if it will help but you're one version behind the latest one (1901020069). Try updating the application and see if that solves the issue... You can also try running a Repair Installation, again from the Help menu.

I reinstalled the Adope Pro DC and updated it to the latest version, yet I still have the problem.

Thanks

The following thread https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2062066

helped me. It looks like that the bookmark only works after purchasing the commercial edition

and it doesn't work with the trial edition.

That should not be the case. The trial version is fully functional. Could be some kind of bug.
