New difficulty with Save as

Recently it has become impossible for me to "save as. " When I click File, Save as, this tiny dialogue box comes up that I cannot enlarge and thus cannot save to a file. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

What happens when you grab the box by its corners? I can resize that box when grabbing the borders. And it is sticky, meaning, that the next time the save dialogue gets called, it will come up again with your last settings.
