Newer version already installed

Hey Akki,

I tried to update Acrobat Reader DC on 2 different computers (one with Windows7 32 bits and one with Windows7 64). During the installation process, the Adobe folder was be removed from the ProgramFiles and the updater published the message: A newer version is already installed.

The Adobe was disappeared from installed programs, ControlPannel/Programs, but remains in the registry.

Could you help me with some advice? I cannot install Reader anymore.

Hi Ovidiu,

Since your issue is not related to the query asked there. So I have branched this discussion as new thread.

As you are getting the error message newer version already installed even though the application hasn't been installed yet.

You may try the troubleshooting steps suggested here:

Reboot computer.
Run cleaner tool to remove old traces of the application: Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs and reinstall it Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all version
