Hi all,

We are trying to go paperless (where possible).

We are having an issue with stamping documents as were wanting to edit a stamp every time it is placed on the document.

Most times when we are stamping were adding new or unique information to the stamp.

The current method of this I've found is creating a new stamp every time a document needs to be stamped.

A perfect solution for this would be a stamp that we could place down and edit afterwards; via editable fields or a form fill.

Any solutions or ideas are greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

Hi, I've found that I'm only able to edit stamps prior to saving them and not on the fly when I'm wanting to stamp a document. is there any way around this ?

I'm just wanting to fill in an invoice stamp with different data almost every time.

I have this stamp here which is as close as i can get to having a custom stamp but i have to save it before using and make a new one every time, this isn't ideal as i was trying to streamline my workload not add to it.

Thanks in advance,

Josh.

Then you have not implemented the custom dynamic stamp properly.

You have created a "static" stamp. To add data to a stamp one needs to create a dynamic stamp or a stamp that has form fields that are either filled in by a script in the form or by user input. To have a stamp that you have provided, the user will need to input data, a dynamic stamp, into the fields of the stamp before it is sized and placed on a PDF.

The first link explains how to create a custom dynamic stamp that has field(s) automatically filled in by JavaScript from system data.

The second link explains how create a custom dynamic stamp that includes JavaScript to prompt for user inputted data prior to placing and sizing the stamp on a PDF.'

The third link presents a number of links that show how to create an extensive dialog to gather data prior to placing and sizing the stamp.

You need to concentrate on the first two links to start with.

Just so you're aware, what would work best for what you want to do is to prompt the user for the stamp info using a custom dialog. Unfortunately, this can is also quite complicated for a novice. But it looks like you just want to include text fields (as opposed to check boxes, date fields, radio buttons, etc.) so it's marginally less complicated. Post again if you get stuck and would like some specific guidance.
