I initally contacted this community when the escape button started ameking the entire comment box disappear (ie Esc deleted the comment). This was aabout 2 years ago. This has not been corrected. This problem has not only not resolved it has gotten worse. Now not only does escape cause the comment do be deleted, but hitting the x in the upper right hand corner of the comment box now essentially deletes the entire comment and the box! Really guys WTF is going on here??? (I am using acrobat pro)

Hi there
Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that
Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive please download it to your computer locally and then try again.
What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 23.08.20533 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.
Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.
Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-defau...
Let us know how it goes.

I am using the most updated version (23.08.20533). It happens on all pdf files. Resetting preferences and rebooting the computer did not help. Repairing the installation did not help.

This is a little frustrating. Im not even sure you are a human, Amal. You have me go through the same inane steps which are ineffective in remedying the problem, which are like copy and paste for every technical issue. I dont even think you (on the support end) tried to see if my problem was universal, ie a NEW bug in YOUR software.

I am sorry to hear that the issue still persists, I have tried to reproduce the issue on my end and its working fine.
Try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Win or enable the root account in MAC and try using the application there and check.
If it still doesn't work, please remove the application using the Acrobat cleaner tool https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html , reboot the computer and reinstall the application using the direct link https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html and see if that works.
Let us know how it goes.
