Running an OCR on text of a PDF,

This causes Adobe to crash,

I have tried Adobe repair, and also found an article that suggested to remove HP's IRIS OCR,

both of these have not solved the issue.

Did you also run the AcroCleaner utility? That one solved my issue.

Uninstall Acrobat - run AcroCleaner - Download and Install again Acrobat.
