Is there anyway to make Office 2016 64-bit compatible with Adobe Acrobat DC Pro PDFMaker?
I make PDFs of all my e-mails and this feature is sorely needed. Right now I have to use Nuances
PDF Converter Pro to do this. I prefer to use only one PDF program. Earlier versions of Acrobat
and Office did a better job than Nuance but I haven't been able to get the new versions of Office
and Acrobat to co-operate. Why can't Adobe keep this function on all versions of Acrobat?

Please refer to my post of page 4 in relation to office update. That should hopefully correct your issue.

After pulling my hair out opening Acrobat, clicking on create PDF from a single file, and being told it couldn't use a Word 2016 file, I succeeded when I went the other way, I opened my Word 2016 document, clicked on the Acrobat tab at the top of the document, and in seconds I had a 276 page Acrobat Pro document. Acrobat may be difficult to work with but Word was not.

My PC is 64 bit, and my Operating System is Windows 10. First I closed both programs. I rebooted the computer to clear out any gremlins that might have been hanging around, Then I opened the Word 2016 document and clicked on the Acrobat tab. When the tab menu appeared I selected create PDF. I don't know if this will work for you. But when in doubt, reboot. Good luck.

Already tried that, and it did not work on my 380 page file. I will work
on a 2 page file, but what good is that?

Sure it is installed automatically if you have Acrobat Pro DC. You may have to do a REPAIR.

This is my issue:
I sign in (with Full Admin rights) to Windows 7 64-bit, and start any Office 2013 program and BAM! there's the Adobe Acrobat Xi Pro Toolbar in my Office app ribbons. I sign in with a test account (no Admin rights) and same thing.
The employee whose computer this is logs in (with no Admin rights) and the toolbar button does not appear. I give her Admin rights and it loads no problem.
Suggestions?

Hi Joel,
Could you please let us know whether you are able to reproduce the issue with all Office apps i.e. Word, Excel and Powerpoint?

Basma

Hi,
Are you able to use PDFMaker for office 2016 now. Is your issue resolved with the latest Acrobat Update (October Release).
Thanks,
Mridula

Hello,
We have this issue but it seems to happen in MSAccess with a custom built dbase we use for our sales dept, even with reinstalling and updating both office and acrobat. We use Office365 pro or E3, we also have Business premium, and Acrobat dc pro, and the crash happens when a user uses our custom built dbase function to convert a table to pdf,I heard from our sales eng it uses the built in office pdf maker, it then gets the "msaccess has stopped working" error. It doesn't happen when you use the acrobat tab within word or excel, it's only happening to one user, we have about 10 that uses that dbase, has anyone with the same setup seen this or has any pointers or ideas.

Acrobat DC does not provide any support for PDF creation in Microsoft Access. As such, any crashes within Microsoft Access associated with creation of PDF are associated with Microsoft's own PDF creation capability used by Access. You will need to contact Microsoft for assistance with this particular issue.

PDF Maker is also not present in Publisher and this has been the case for many versions. One can print to the Adobe PDF Printer to get PDFs of Access reports and items from PDF Publisher.

That's far too old. Support for Office 2016 was added in an update much later. This is free to you.

Acrobat has auto-update so this should happen eventually. If you are installing for others without automatic updates, you will need to install the latest update (currently 11.0.20 I think). There will be more updates, but not many: Acrobat XI is very close to the end of its life, only a few months before it is out of support. The current version includes Office 2016 support in the initial install, I believe.

The compatibility issue between Office 2016 64-bit and Adobe Acrobat DC Pro PDFMaker can indeed be frustrating. Here are a few suggestions that might help:
Check for Updates: Ensure both Office 2016 and Adobe Acrobat DC Pro are updated to their latest versions. Sometimes compatibility issues are resolved in software updates.
Add-in Settings in Office: Sometimes, the PDFMaker add-in gets disabled in Office applications. Check in the 'Options' under 'Add-ins' to see if the Adobe Acrobat add-in is listed and enabled.
Repair Adobe Installation: Adobe Acrobat offers a repair installation option which can fix issues with the software, including add-in problems. You can find this option in the Acrobat menu under Help > Repair Installation.
Adobe Support/Forums: If the issue persists, consider reaching out to Adobe Support or checking Adobe forums for specific solutions. There might be others who have faced similar issues and found workarounds.
Compatibility Mode: Try running Office in compatibility mode for an earlier version. This isn't an ideal solution but can sometimes offer a temporary workaround.
Alternate Methods: If none of the above work, as a temporary solution, consider using the 'Print to PDF' feature in Office or the 'Adobe PDF' printer functionality to create PDFs, though this might not be as streamlined as using PDFMaker.
Adobe typically strives to maintain functionality across versions, but sometimes changes in the software environment, like updates in Office, can create unexpected challenges. Your feedback is valuable, and I recommend also expressing your concerns directly to Adobe so they can prioritize resolving such compatibility issues in future updates.
