Hello~
In Adobe Acrobat Pro version 2023.008.20533, how do I get it to open pdf files in separate windows instead tabs?
Thank you!

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.
This is the design behavior of the application. You can hold the tab with the mouse and drag it out to open in new window.
This issue is reported to our engineering team and is being worked on. The fix will be available in the future updates.
Thanks for your time and patience.

@Amal., thanks for acknowleding that Adobe Acrobat 2023 ("New Acrobat") needs the option to open each document in a new window. This should be possible without disabling New Acrobat; the option should simply be reinstated.

The new interface is there since a while, but it is work in progress. If it does not fit your needs, you should switch to the classic interface. Or you will need to tear off the tabs. I do that. It's not a major issue for me. But I can understand that some want this feature to be present as before.

Hi @Abambo - thanks for your thoughtful suggestions.
As evidenced across hundreds of posts in various Adobe support/community forums, the public still wants the basic option to open .pdf files in new windows. Adobe engineering has also responded and stated that they recognize the issue and are working on re-implementing the option.
For many who have business workflows involving numerous .pdf files, the new interface and its many improvements are welcome and appreciated. However, it is critical to be able to timely open numerous Acrobat documents in separate windows, without requiring additional human inputs such as "tearing" tabs and manually opening new windows. Users should be able to utilize the new, advanced version without the regression of a missing feature: the simple ability to open all files in new windows. Adobe needs to reintroduce this sorely missed feature, which they have acknowleged.
It is very good that tearing tabs works for you, but if you must deal with a large amount of .pdf files in cross-document editing daily, it is certain tearing tabs would not work for you. In many scenarios, it's just too slow and cumbersome to be practical.
