Page numbers do not convert properly from Word to PDF

Conversion of Word document into PDF results in changed page numbers.

A 7-page document it is numbered in Word: 1/7, 2/7, 3/7, 4/7 etc. until 7/7.

The PDF turns this into 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, 4/5, 5/6, 6/7, 7/7.

This happens for my older documents as well, they did PDF correctly with different software a few days ago.

 

I have had a recent software update and am using now: Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise (this changed) and Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (probably a reinstallation, but same as before). I need the profession functions, therefore 'print PDF' is not an option and I therefore prepare PDFs with the function 'create PDF'. Manual changes are an option for small documents as urgent fix, but I am about to create large documents of over 300 pages and fixing it manually is not an option. (I am also wondering if there could be  more numbering issues that I didn't detect yet).

 

I would be grateful if anyone could help me out.
