Paper Capture recognition service error?

New Here ,
Nov 20, 2017 Nov 20, 2017

I am having a very frustrating issue with Adobe Acrobat DC.

I scanned several pages in and was hoping to be able to copy and paste the text from the pages. I keep getting this error message:

error.png

I have tried some tips I have found on old forums, but nothing works. I haven't found any forum on this topic that Adobe has actually resolved. As you can see from the background in the error message, the text is clear, aligned, etc.

As if this issue weren't annoying enough, when I first scanned one of the documents and had it come through to my email, i opened the attachment and the reader had no problem recognizing text. I said, "oh, I'll just save all my pdf attachments and then go for it." And now the text recognition doesn't work. Even if I go back to the same email attachment where it worked initially.

Has anyone else been able to fix this problem? I would describe myself as perturbed. Even more perturbed that Adobe doesn't provide me with a contact number so I can call and pester them because, you know, this is a product I paid for.

Hi Ipsjlm,

Sorry for the delay in response.

I hope you already have found an answer/solution to your problem. If not, would you try repairing Acrobat? To repair, launch Acrobat>Help>Repair installation.

If the repair doesn't help, you may use Acrobat Cleaner tool: Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs to uninstall Acrobat, restart your machine. Try installing Acrobat again and check the issue again.
