Password Restriction for a Form - How to allow adding pages

Community Beginner ,

I have some forms that calculate asset values, etc.  I want to restrict end-users from messing with the calculations so I lock the form with a password.

The problem is that when it is locked, the users cannot add pages to the document.  I need them to be able to add a pdf of the invoice for the asset to become part of the record.

My options:

  • Inserting, Deleting and Rotating Pages
  • Filling in Fields and signing existing signature fields
  • Commenting, filling in form fields, and signing existing signature fields
  • Any except extracting fields

Does anyone know how to restrict such that I can Insert Pages and Fill in and sign ?

Hi @LGN__,

I have a workaround that may not be what you are looking for, but it may be helpful. Try the following:

  • Set the file's password restriction to "Commenting, filling in form fields, and signing existing signature fields."
  • Enter a desired password, and click Ok. Save the file
  • You may try attaching an attachment to the file: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/links-attachments-pdfs.html. Check the section: "Add attachments to PDFs"

This way, your file remains secure or cannot be modified. Once you receive the file with attachments, you can add them to the main document.
