Uploaded a PDF to website and PDF opens fine and is readable in all platforms until Microsoft Edge latest version 103.0.1264.62.  Font appears to be broken up and not readable but not on all of the PDF pages (24 page document).

Documnet initially created in Indesign and outlines created before turning into PDF.

Sample attached.

By converting your live text to outlines before exporting to PDF, you turned the text into graphics of each individual letter.

MS Edge isn't a compliant PDF viewer and probably doesn't know what to do with the outlines. It's treating it as a graphic, and a very poor quality graphic, too.

Question: why did you convert your text to outlines?

Doing so is the worst thing you could do to the file, making it unreadable by most technologies, low-quality for print/press runs, inaccessible for those using assistive technologies, inflexible when viewed on different digital devices, and lousy to read anywhere on any device.

Hi Bevi,

Thank you for the respponse. Printers have asked me to to convert files to outlines before turning into PDF especially if it is not a standard font.  I have gone back to the original file and saved as a PDF without creating outlines and then uploaded it to our website.  Unfortunately, I am having the same result of broken fonts, but only on  the latest Microsoft Edge browser.
