Edit: solved the problem. There was something called 'markup' added and as i deleted this, everything works fine
As you can see in the photo, my created document has a nasty gray space on the right side. I wrote this document with ms office (newst version) and then saved it as a pdf document. It has no comments included, already checked that. has anybody got an idea what i can do to avoid the gray edge? thank you! (im using the german version of both programms)

What exact command did you use in Word to convert the file to a PDF?
What version of Acrobat do you have? And of Office? And the OS?
Can you share the file with us?

I use Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus and Adobe Reader IX
I cklied on 'File' > 'save as' and then changed the document type into PDF (works perfect normally)
I cant share the docment because it includes sensitive information. But its not just text, theres also charts, pictures and graphs in it

++ Adding to this discussion and to the always valuable guidance of Try67
You may also want to run the Accessibitlity Tool. Perform a Full Report and when its done see the in the report the items that failed the tests.
You may need to run the Print Production tool---> "Preflight"--> PDF FixUps, click on Analyze and Fix.
NOTE: You may need to pay attention to otgher settings such as Flattener Preview or trapped presets. Save a copy of the original document and run all these tests in that copy not the original, just so don't mess it up if something goes wrong.
A very quick easy fix that doesn't follow recommended guidance, however, is to open the file in a Chrome based browser ( like Chrome, the new MS Edge, or even Mozilla Firefox). Then save the file, and open that file with Acrobat.

This is not relevant since they don't have Acrobat.
Reader is not involved in the process of creating the file, it just displays it. The issue is most likely with how Word exports the PDF. You should try asking in a Microsoft forum.
