PDF page numbering standards?

For renumbering a book which has a front cover, pages before chapter 1, pages at the end of the book and a back cover, What would be the common standard for page numbering? Would this be the standard?

    C - Page 1 (Cover)

    i - Page 2

    ii - Page 3

    ii - Page 4

    iii - Page 5

    iv - Page 6

    1 - Page 7 (Chapter 1, first page in book)

    2 - Page 8

    3 - Page 9

    ...

    96 - Page 102

    97 - Page 103

    98 - Page 104 (Last page in book)

    v - Page 100

    vi - Page 101

    vii - Page 102

    viii - Page 103

    B - Page 104 (Back cover)

I am not sure what the standard is for renumbering the page of a front cover and back cover should be for a PDF book and weather the roman numbers should continue at the end of the book or start over at "i" instead of "v" in the example above.

No. Page 2 would never be page i. Odd pages are always on the right. 

This isn't just for PDFs, so open up a book or two on your bookshelf and examine. I just picked one up. The first 16 unnumbered pages have titles, copyrights, quotes, maps, etc., followed by the 17th (right-sided) unnumbered page that says "Part 1". The 18th page is the first numbered pages and says "2".

Sometimes you will have i, ii, iii, followed by 1, 2, 3.

Sometimes you will have 17 unnumbered pages followed by 18.

There are several correct ways, but right-sided pages are odd and left-sides are even. Page 2 cannot be i.

That is good to know.

Is it proper to have the pages at the end of thr book as roman numerals and co tinuing on from where the roman numerals left off at the start of the book?

And what would one call the front and back cover?
