We are having an issue with printing PDFs in a batch printing program.
The error messages are: The document could not be printed. Followed by the message: An error occurred while printing the document.
If we convert the PDF to PDF /A it will print okay.
If will also print if we select Print as Image.
Is this a known issue with Adobe, or maybe it's my print driver?
Wondering if there a way to use the API to convert the document to /A type before printing?
Can anyone point me to documentation for that?

Hi MGTO-11,
Thank you for reaching out.
Could you please share the complete workflow you do?
Did you experience the same behavior before, or it started recently?
If you are trying to convert the PDF to PDF/A, you may refer to the information provided on the following help page: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/pdf-x-pdf-a-pdf.html.
Let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Meenakshi

It looks like we have narrowed the issue down to the Ricoh Fiery print driver. We don't have any control over how the documents are created so we would have to convert to /A before printing via our batch process or Print as Image.
These documents will print using other print drivers. Most likely we will be moving away from using the Fiery print controller due to a multitude of issues.
