PDF Tagging question

We (colleagues and myself) are trying to tag a PDF. We don't have access to the original source file. We are able to tag up to a point and then it just stops letting us tag anymore. We have been using the TURO tool to highlight the section we want to tag and then selecting the item, but it doesn't take. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Could the element you're selecting be a graphic, maybe a scan or other graphic of text?

And did you try Acrobat's AutoTag utility? It will wipe out what you already did with TURO tool, but is much faster. You then can correct the tags with TURO.

We have tried that. Problem is some of these documents are very long.

The length of the PDF shouldn't be a factor. Why do you think long documents pose a problem?

And how long is "long"?  10 pages? 100 pages? Thousands?
