i have a certain issue that really bugs me, if i download from facebook for exapmle a pdf file, and open it through the acrobate, for now everything is fine, however if i close it, and try to search for it on my phone i do not find it by any mean. only can access it through your app.

where are the files located?!!!! grrrrr

moreover i can not relocate them from the adobe itself, or give my the pathway to open it directly

from my file manager.

searching on the community here and there the only thing i found is i can upload it to the cload and then download it AGAIN to save it where i want ... do you see that even reasnable?!!

Hi,

In this thread https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader-mobile/android-buttons-actions-saved-pdf-javascript/m-...   I am helping a user with a different issue that is indirectly related to yours.

I've posted plenty of slides from my Android device to illlustrate how to manage and save files.

As a rule of thumb, if you are getting files from other places on the web, like Facebook, they will normally be saved in the Downloads folder.

Be aware that when you open Acrobat Reader these files will be stored in the Download folder by default;  not in the Downloads folder that your deafult browser uses.

When you open Acrobat Reader, in your Home View screen click on the bottom ribbon toolbar Files.

On the next screen select On this Device, and the next screen on the upper left corner below the title bar you will see where all of your PDF are stored which is the Downloads folder.

Hi,

Now you have to please excuse me for my delay in replying  🙂

I am almost 100 %  certain that you're not able to see your files using the file manager  because of one or more of the following:

  • You are saving the files to "On This Device"  Downloads folder in the Document Cloud, and not "On This Device" locally in the internal storage nor the SD Card storage.  (NOTE:  If you move all your documents to the SD Card they will be available to all apps in your phone. If you use the internal storage of your phone security restrictions are enforced on how to access those files. See if possibly your PDF stored in the download folder are set to hidden. See next bullet)

Good morning and happy New year 🎄

Then i strongly thank you for your help and effort

However i think that's a phone built-in error, because the file manager itself didn't allow to show hidden files

And also i think u were right that storeded in location different and not found in internal storage

I stopped downloading excpet for a browsing app to make sure the files downloaded in downloads folder

Happy to help... you're welcome.

Happy new year to you too 😃   !

In Android 6 Marshmallow, the file explorer was introduced as a hidden feature.

It is there, but is hidden to the user because it's accessed by going to Settings, Storage and USB, then scroll down in that next window that will open, and then select Explore.

Is this how you were able to launch the file manager shown  in your screenshot?
