How do I create a PDF with editable fields? I am looking to make the body of the text permanent and uneditable with editable fields that I can click on and input text.

I would suggest creating the static (permanent) portion with an application that is geared for text entry and image placement (Indesign, Illustrator, MS Word etc.) Create a PDF, then open in Acrobat. (Please note, forms cannot be created with Reader)

 

You can automate this process by selecting Prepare Form with auto detection. Forms will be placed in recognized areas.

 

Or by selecting Prepare Form, and with the form ribbon, select each kind of form needed, and place manually.
