Have been running Acrobat Creative Cloud since 2014.
I disable all automatic updates and decide when and how updates are deployed.
Since the latest version of Acrobat DC, 17.012.20098, it is updating itself almost everyday.
Please help me stop this nonsense.

Hi Collèges,
Sorry for the delay in response.
Try navigating to Acrobat Preferences > Updater > uncheck the box next to "Automatically install updates". Below is a screenshot:

Hi Shivam,
Thank you for your reply, late as it is, surely because of the Christmas Holidays.
however, if you noticed in my original post, I mentioned Adobe Acrobat DC on the MAC.
Your reply is for the windows version and does not apply.
On the Mac there is a similar setting for disabling updates.
Of course, that was the first thing I tried.
What happens is that the check box gets de-selected as soon as you close the
preferences window. and so.. it remains always active no matter what I do !
Any more suggestions ?
I have noticed there is a very long list of people with the same problem..
Thank you

Hi Collèges,
Could you please try resetting preferences for Acrobat using the steps given in the following link and check if that resolves the issue?
How to reset Acrobat Preference settings to default.
Reboot the machine once preference has been reset and try again.
Thanks,
Shivam

What do you mean by "updating itself every day". There aren't updates every day, so what do you see it doing?

Hi Test Screen Name,
Thank you for your reply.
The updater app launches, the update process ends in a failure.
then the next day, the updater launches again. Actually, now that I think of it, it is after
every restart.
I have disabled the process by creating a folder of the same name as the temp update folder and locking it.
now the update app cannot load, but, eventually, I would like to update this app....

Ok, so it doesn't actually update, just fails to. And will keep trying forever. But you've found a way to block it... you can download the latest update when you choose and apply it manually.

Thank you again for your assistance...
I am actually managing over 100 computers and cannot proceed with upgrading the network
to AdobeCC 2018 and the newest version of Adobe DC without finding a solution to this.
Manual solutions cannot be the only solution.
I will try updating another system to see if I get the same results.
But so far, the test machine I usually use has been a good indicator of how the network
as a whole will behave.

Certainly manual isn't the solution. To manage 100 computers you'd use enterprise deployment tools like SCCM. Adobe have a large toolkit for people managing computers. Often you need to set options as part of the initial install. Acrobat-Reader Enterprise Toolkit Home

Did you ever find a fix to this? I have been trying everything I can find, but I can't disable that pesky updater! Adobe Acrobat Pro Dc 2018. I'm on a mac 10.13.6. Thanks!!
