Please could you add a very simple way for organizations to be able to depoly Adobe Acrobat using Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune).

Ideally it would be in the Microsoft Store for easy installation.

Alterntatively have a single small .msi that can be installed as a Line of Business app in Intune. This msi would be a bootstrap that downloads the whole application.

Right now you have to:

  • Create an installation package
  • Download the 2GB file
  • extract it
  • Figure out the parameters for intune including, install commands, uninstall commands, a check to see if a file exists and assume it's been installed.
  • Package it as an intunewin file
  • Upload to intune and wait for an hour for a 2GB file to upload
  • Test it out, realized it fails and try and figure out what went wrong.
  • Realize that it won't install if outlook is open (why is that)?
  • Repeat the above.
  • Talk to tech support who are clueless
  • Still not have it working

Sorry for the blunt descriptions above.

Sorry OP, this comment won't fix your issue. The process you have described is identical to my own journey.
We have managed to get it to install albeit it listing as failed within the Endpoint Manager Portal. Once the user logs into the software the features are removed and the word reader now appears in the title. I knew I should have insisted on using the 32 bit edition.
Here's our intune install command: setup.exe /sAll /rs /rps /msi /norestart /quiet EULA_ACCEPT=YES

If anyone at Adobe is reading this, please see if you can get this process improved upon. Having an aweful MS experience isn't going to make us use Macs. Also, Nitro is starting to get some usage in this space doubling the amount of pdf writing software we need to maintain.
