Popup on click of a word in PDF

Dear Sir,

I have gone through a pdf of a website. I have observed whenever I click on any letter of a word the specific word is being selected and the dictionary meaning is appearing as popup. After moving the mouse pointer the pop is disappearing.

I would like to know how the same could be possible.

Further, I would like to know whether apart from a single word meaning whether the meaning also will display if I select a phrase or idiom.

There's no such built-in feature in Acrobat or Reader. You either used a different PDF viewer, which has this functionality, or someone has built it into the file you're viewing.
If you would share the file with us we could look further into it, and perhaps let you know how it was done.
