I am trying to open postscript files. (.PS, not .PDF) I would like to save them as PDF files. Everything (Acrobat Pro, Reader, Apple Preview, etc.) puts four squares at the beginning of each paragraph, then overwrites the first few displaced letters onto the following letters.
How can I fix this?
Thanks.

The only way to convert PostScript files to PDF is to open them in Acrobat Distiller, a separate program that is installed with Adobe Acrobat. You cannot “open” PostScript files with the applications you mention.

Hi Terryg,

Distiller version you are using? Launch Distiller > Help > About Acrobat Distiller
Also, is it possible to share the .ps file you are working with to replicate the issue at our end?? To share the file here in the forums, refer to the steps given in this link: How to share a file using Adobe Document Cloud
