I'm using Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017 and Microsoft Office 2010 on a PC running Windows 10 version 1809. I am unable to create pdfs from powerpoint files using the "create file" option within acrobat. Powerpoint does not show as a supported format. The same problem exists with Word, but Excel works fine. I can convert Excel files to pdf using the "create file" option, but not Word or PowerPoint files. I've tried the suggestions at "MS Office documents not listed in supported file types when creating PDF from file " to no avail. The registry entries are correct and I have administrator privileges. I've done a repair of my Office 2010 install and reinstalled Acrobat pro 2017, but still cannot convert pptx files to pdf from within Acrobat. I am able to convert pptx files to pdf from within Powerpoint, but I want to be able to convert multiple files in a folder all at once, and this can only be done from within Acrobat. Any suggestions?

I've managed to solve the problem myself. Looking through the registry I noticed under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT the .pptx and .docx entries had entries from Kingsoft WPS office, but .xlsx did not. So I suspected that Kingsoft WPS office, which I've never installed was somehow installed on my desktop unbeknownst to me, and caused some issues with pptx and docx file conversions to pdf. I could not uninstall this program and so what I did was to install it from the Kingsoft website (WPS Office Compatible With MS (Word, Spreadsheets, Presentation) For PC and Mobile - Free Download) and then I used Revo Uninstaller to uninstall it. I used the advanced settings in Revo Uninstaller to be sure that all registry items were removed. After completing the uninstall I am now able convert pptx and docx files to pdf from within Acrobat Pro 2017. My Acrobat preferences now shows Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word as supported file types:

Hi Skappy,
As you have mentioned above that you are using the Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 2017, could you please confirm the exact version of the application?
Take help of the steps mentioned here Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC
Also, as you have mentioned above, it is an issue when you try to create PDF from multiple PDFs. Am I right?
What happens when you try to create PDF from a single file in Acrobat? Did you receive the same error message?
Also, do you get the Acrobat ribbon available in the PowerPoint and Word?
It would be helpful if you can share the screenshot of the error message you get.
To share the screenshot, use the steps provided below:
- Click on the insert icon provided in the reply window as shown below:
- An Insert Image window will appear.
- Then click on Insert Image and browse the location where you have saved the screenshot file.
- Select the file and click on Open > Insert Image.
We will be waiting for your response.

Meenakshi,
In response to your questions:
Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017, 2017 Release (Classic) | Version 2017.011.30113
Yes, I do have the same problem when I try to create PDF from a singe file in Acrobat. And yes, I do get the Acrobat ribbon in PowerPoint and Word and am able to convert a single PowerPoint or Word document to PDF directly from the Microsoft Office application.
When I try to open a single PPTX file from withiin Acrobat Pro 2017 I get the following error message:
When I try to open a folder I get a list of supported file types, and as you can see Excel is supported but I don't see PowerPoint or Word in the list as shown here
Also, I see the following in Acrobat Pro Preferences:
Here again, PowerPoint and Word are not listed, but Excel is.
Let me add some additional comments. On this same PC, previously using Adobe Acrobat Pro XI, everything worked fine, and I was able to convert PowerPoint and Word files from Acrobat. Both PowerPoint and Word did show up in the above lists. However, at some point, they stop working and these applications no longer appeared in the lists. After a fresh install of recently purchased Acrobat Pro 2017, PowerPoint and Word still did not appear on the list of supported formats. I assumed that at some point I must have installed another application that caused the problem, but I cannot figure out which one. I have turned off all of my startup applications and disabled all but essential Microsoft applications using "msconfig", but after a reboot and re installation of Acrobat Pro 2017, the same problem occurs. In addition I've done a repair of my Office 2010 application, suspecting that it might be corrupted, but this did not fix the problem.
I would appreciate any suggestions you might have.
